Appointment of Chief Commercial Officer

Nordic Halibut AS (NOHAL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Atle Jacobsen as new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). The position will be included in the company’s executive management team.

Mr. Jacobsen holds a bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Business and Economics from the University of Strathclyde and BI Norwegian Business School.

He has more than 20 years of experience from director roles in sales and marketing in various companies such as Tine SA, GC Rieber, PepsiCo and Procter & Gamble. During the last three years, he worked as an EVP for Tine International where he was responsible for developing Tine’s global product portfolio and market position.

– I am very pleased that we are expanding our management team at Nordic Halibut, and am confident that Atle will prove to be an excellent asset as we work to deliver on our ambitious growth plan and commercial strategy of expanding our product portfolio, says CEO Edvard Henden.

Farmed Atlantic Halibut is a highly versatile premium fish with a huge potential for developing and commercializing value-added products. Halibut consist of four fillets as compared to only two in other industrially farmed fish species. That translates into a superior fillet yield of app. 65%. Hence, most of the fish can be utilized and sold as premium high-value halibut fillets, both in the HORECA and retail market.

Nordic Halibut already has a strong position in the HORECA market in Europe and North America. The company plans to ramp-up production volumes to 9.000 t HOG within 2030. Increased volumes will enable the company to build new market presence and complement the current product portfolio with new value-added products.

As Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Jacobsen will be responsible for all market activities, including the development and commercialization of future products for new markets and segments.

Mr. Jacobsen starts in the position on 3 May 2021.
